Hot Ham & Swiss Poppyseed Sliders

Make these as an appetizer!

Wait, wait! Don’t leave. I know the pictures is a little off-putting, but these sliders are AWESOME! These are great to take to a get together, say a football game on a Sunday evening.

Hot Ham & Swiss Poppyseed Sliders, adapted from The Sisters Cafe

  • 24 small white rolls
  • 1 lb. good quality deli ham, sliced thin
  • 1 block of Swiss cheese, sliced (8 oz.)
  • 1/3 cup mayo or Miracle Whip

Poppy seed sauce

  • 1 TBSP poppy seeds
  • 2 TBSP Dijon mustard
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 TBSP minced onion
  • 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Slice buns and put a smear of mayo on each bun. Place a folded slice of ham & a slice of cheese inside of each roll. Close rolls & place into a 9×13 pan, very close together.

In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the poppy seed sauce ingredients and pour evenly over all of the sandwiches. Let sit 10 minutes, or until butter sets slightly. Cover with foil & bake at 375 for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Uncover & cook for 5-7 additional minutes and serve warm.

Sandwiches can be assembled a day ahead & kept in the fridge ready to bake. Perfect for a party!

If I made these again, I think I might put them on a jelly roll pan so they had more room and I could brush the tops with the sauce and not the side. Just for presentation sake.

My husband took these to a football game and I understand they were liked!

Sweet ham, cheesy Swiss cheese and a tangy topping. Can’t lose. Enjoy!
